Simple CRM for Gmail
A Gmail add-on by EcmySoft
You already track customers in Gmail. The follow-up you meant to make is in a thread from three weeks ago, the phone number is in a signature, and the note you took is nowhere.
Simple CRM for Gmail puts a CRM in the sidebar of the inbox you already have. Open an email and you see who it is, what you last said, what you owe them, and what it is worth — without leaving Gmail and without copying anything into another system.
It stores everything in your own Google account. Contacts are Google Contacts. Tasks are Google Tasks. Meetings are Google Calendar events. Records live in Google Sheets files in your own Drive. There is no database of ours holding your customer list, and uninstalling leaves all of it exactly where it is.
- Contacts
- Open an email and the sender’s record appears. Unknown sender? The form arrives prefilled from the message — name, address, company, and a phone number read out of the signature. Saved straight to your Google Contacts.
- Projects and deals
- Track work per contact with a value, a stage and a close date, rolled up by company so opening one person shows the whole account.
- Notes and activity
- Log calls, emails and meetings against a record, with dates, so the history is there next time the thread resurfaces.
- Tasks
- Follow-ups are created as real Google Tasks, so they also show up in Google Tasks, Calendar and Gmail’s task pane rather than being trapped inside an add-on.
- Meetings
- Schedule a meeting from the record: it creates the calendar event, invites the contact, and logs the meeting back against them.
- Files
- Attach a file straight off the open email, or pick one from Drive. Files stay in your Drive; the record keeps a link, never a copy.
- Custom fields and tables
- Rename, hide or add fields, and define your own record types when contacts and deals aren’t the shape of your work.
Which Google data it uses
Google shows the exact list when you install. We ask for the narrowest permission that will do the job:
- The open email
- Read access to only the message you currently have open — to identify the correspondent, read a phone number from the signature, and list attachments you choose to save. Not your mailbox.
- Google Contacts
- Read and write, because Contacts is where the add-on keeps your contact records.
- Google Tasks
- Read and write, to create and complete your follow-ups.
- Google Calendar
- Events only, to create and update the meetings you schedule from a record.
- Google Drive
- Per-file access to the files the add-on creates and the files you pick yourself — not your whole Drive.
Price
14 days free, no credit card. After that $15 a month or $149 a year. When a trial ends nothing is deleted and nothing is hidden: the add-on becomes read-only, so every record, list and search keeps working until you subscribe.
Install
Simple CRM for Gmail installs from the Google Workspace Marketplace and appears in the right-hand sidebar of Gmail. Questions go to ecmysoftware@gmail.com and a person answers.
